If oil has indeed peaked then wouldn't the fact that the limit in supply will cause us to stop using it so profusely put an end to the civilization-induced global warming (if global warming is indeed happening and if it is caused by our use of oil)? This would solve our larger problem of destroying our climate naturally, which seems to me to be an environmental idea.
